Incarceration is often a generational cycle that repeats within families and communities. On any given day, 2.7 million children have a parent in prison, and those children are at least twice as likely to go to prison as a peer who does not have an incarcerated parent. And children with incarcerated mothers experience far greater disruption to their lives, including separation from their siblings.
At She Brews Coffee & Transition program, we provide safe and affordable housing, job skills training, and mentorship for women transitioning out of incarceration. Our goal: to break generational cycles of incarceration for women and children in Oklahoma by reuniting families and creating hope for the future.
