On July 1, She Brews Coffee Roasters & Transition Program celebrated the opening of our expanded Claremore location, which allows us to create more opportunities for formerly incarcerated women to rebuild their lives. Our staff is made up of women who have been through the judicial system and are trying to develop new skills to change their lives—becoming sober, reuniting with their children, learning job skills and finding stability.
For our Operations Manager Tamra Bissell, She Brews is much more than a place to work, because it represents a second chance.
As She Brews expands its workforce training programs, including barista and baking training, Bissell hopes every customer who walks through the doors sees more than a coffee shop.
“When you walk into She Brews, the girls behind the bar and the girls serving you, they are one of your nieces, daughter, sister. We are just trying to see a better us.”
