Brown sugar, dried cherries, hibiscus, and lime.
We’re thrilled to spotlight our latest featured bean from Nova Coffee in the Gicumbi District of Northern Rwanda—a farmstead rooted in redemption and run with heart. Nova Coffee was founded by Agnes Mukamushinja, a former nurse, and her husband, Felix, a pharmacist, who turned their passion for community wellness into a coffee enterprise. After witnessing the destruction of coffee farms during the genocide, Agnes returned to her childhood village of Bukure with a vision to restore its legacy. Nova is a women-centered washing station committed to improving socioeconomic welfare through high-quality coffee and job creation. Through initiatives like “Le Cafe de Mamans,” grown by 263 women of the local Berwa Cooperative, Nova empowers female farmers with economic opportunity and dignity. Each cup from Nova is more than exceptional—it’s transformative.
Personality (Cupping Notes): Soulful yet playful with notes of brown sugar, dried cherries, hibiscus, and lime.
